LinkedIn is a social network for professionals with over 100 million accounts. If you’ve ever written a resume, then creating a profile on the site will be very easy and familiar. A while back a few of us gathered after work to enjoy a few drinks, some pizza and to tune in to The Influencer Project: The Shortest Marketing Conference Ever. This conference boasted some of the top, online marketing minds in the country. Sixty big brains all sharing a keynote message – in one hour. The webinar was presented by Thoughtlead and sponsored by Hubspot with a whole gang of partners. A full audio download and transcript of the webinar is available here. I thought I would pull some of the real gems from the presentation and share them here. Read the rest of this entry »

Twitter has revealed some more details about its advertising plan. You can read the full story at the Wall Street Journal’s “All Things Digital” blog.
Twitter says that there are still lots of details to work out. But at a quick glance it looks a lot like Google’s ad plan. Ads show up in searches. (Only searches, not a user’s main Twitter feed.) Search for “laptop,” and you might see a Dell ad, to use WSJ’s example.
So how does this advertising model affect brands that are active in the new media arena? Right now I think there’s a pro and a con to this system. Read the rest of this entry »
