The move to e-mail and online bill payment is choking the United States Postal Service.  Details here.

In response, the USPS is considering the closure of as many as 1,000 local offices.  While this is an understandable way to cut $7 billion in projected losses, it will certainly lead to more people paying bills online — which will lead to more potential closures.
