Moxley Carmichael has assisted Young-Williams Animal Center in promoting adoptions and its spay/neuter program since 2005. In April 2009, we met and helped them initiate a more focused new media strategy. At that time, they had sporadically used Facebook and had not used Twitter. As of August 2009, they now have over 1,600 vibrant fans on Facebook and over 180 followers on Twitter.
I sat down with Young-Williams Executive Director Tim Adams and Karen Lively, Web site/rescue coordinator, to talk about their experience getting started with new media.
